Can Apple keep us away from porn?

As MiKandi opens an adult app store for Android, Apple’s defiance to offer porn apps for the iPad and iPhone is highlighted again. I chuckled as I thought about how Apple has artfully played both sides of the porn debate to successfully appeal to a broad base of customers. They are being good capitalists! They tout a seemingly family friendly, no porn policy that doesn’t mean anything since we all know that the Apple products offers Internet access which makes pornography available anyway. My guess is the iPad’s advanced multi-media functions makes porn look awesome and this feature is winning over fans of Internet porn everywhere. If Apple were serious about limiting kids’ access to porn they could put their prowess behind creating a product to do just that. And since the pornography industry has been at the forefront in advancing technology for the last 30 years they should embrace this type of Apple-created product. An Apple/Porn partnership would be a match made in technological heaven.
